Help for Bidders

Bidding on accommodations here at Bid-Vacations.Com is both fun and easy. Simply register for free if you have not already by clicking New Registration here, or at the top of any auction page. Our system automatically emails you confirmation of your username and password within a few seconds.

Search for Accommodations

Click on a category on the left hand column of the homepage to find available accommodations. Listings will be returned to your screen for each category. You may also search for accommodations by clicking the All, New, Hot and Ending Auctions links near the top of any page. Click on an item to view the details of the accommodation offered. For more information about the offering click on the link to the seller's website (if included) or email them with your questions.

Bid Process

Registered bidders may place a bid for any accommodation by using the form provided each time they view an auction. The current high bid will be displayed along with the minimum bid required. To place a bid, enter your User ID and Password, as well as the price you wish to bid for the item. Bidders must enter a valid bid amount. When entering your desired bid, you may enter any value at or above the value currently listed. We recommend entering the highest amount that you are willing to pay for the item however you are not required to do so. Bidding will continue until the auction closes. You will receive email notification if someone outbids you. If you have questions about any of the accommodations offered, please email the seller. It is your responsibility to be an informed bidder.

Buyer's Rights

As a registered bidder, you may submit valid bids on any accommodations for sale in auction. A Buyer reserves the right to refuse purchase of an item after successful bidding. However, refusing to purchase an item after successful bidding is grounds for the loss of all rights for further participation on Bid-Vacations.Com. We reserve the right to revoke bidder participation for any reason. (Please also note that in many states a winning bid is considered a contract and may be enforced by legal action).

Registering will protect the Buyer as well as the Seller, by insuring to some degree that bids are valid. Once you are registered and have selected your user identification and password, do not reveal your password to anyone you do not wish to have access to your account. You are responsible for all bids placed using your account. Bids are not retracted under any circumstances.

Reserve Bidding

Reserve price auctions occur when a Seller optionally places an item in the auction at a starting price that is below the lowest price the Seller will take for the item. If the bids do not reach or
surpass this reserve price, the Seller is not obligated to sell the item
. Sellers often use this
method to stimulate bidding.

All reserve price auctions are clearly labeled as such in the listings. When viewing the item,
you will see the words "reserve price not met" or "reserve price met." In reserve price auctions, all bidders are bidding against the Seller's reserve price. If the auction closes before bidding reaches the reserve price, the seller is not obligated to sell to the highest bidder. However, the seller may optionally wish to sell to the highest bidder. The highest bidder is under no obligation to buy under this scenario.

Buy-It Button

When an accommodation is put up for auction the seller may optionally put a "Buy-it" price on the offering. This enables a bidder to purchase the offering immediately. If a bidder uses the Buy-It feature, the auction ends.

Winning an Auction

Once you have won an an auction, Bid-Vacations.Com will send an informational email to your registered address, and to the registered address of the Seller who listed the auction item. This email will include the item title, the ending price, and the Seller and Buyer's contact information. It is necessary for the Buyer and Seller to communicate with each other in order to arrange payment methods and any other details. At this point, The Cape Cod Auction Network is no longer directly associated with the transaction.

Acting as a listing agent, Bid-Vacations.Com is not held responsible for any unsuccessful transactions. However, if at any point you encounter a problem that requires intervention, contact Bid-Vacations.Com by email at ken@bid-vacations.com and we will assist you in attempting to resolve the situation.
